7 Key Components of Digital Marketing
When I first dove into digital marketing seven years ago, I was in the middle of growing my natural fertility health business. I was determined to figure it all out myself—from building my own website to trying to understand SEO, content creation, email marketing, and more.

Although I had a marketing degree, let’s be real—I wasn’t learning this kind of digital marketing in college. Pre-Facebook era was a completely different world and to be honest, it felt overwhelming at first. But through a lot of trial, error, and continuous learning, I found my groove. Over time, my focus shifted, my business evolved, and I discovered a passion for helping other entrepreneurs simplify their online presence and market themselves with confidence.

If you’re in the early stages of your digital marketing journey, I know how it feels. That’s why I want to break down the 7 key components you should know—so you can get started without the confusion I once felt.

1. Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

When I first heard about SEO, it sounded complicated and technical. But really, SEO is just about making your content easier to find on search engines like Google.

If you want organic traffic (instead of relying on ads), SEO is your best friend. Simple things like using the right keywords, creating helpful content, and optimizing your website structure can help people find you without having to spend a dime on advertising.

2. Web Design & User Experience (UX)

A website isn’t just about looking pretty—it’s about guiding your visitors toward an action, whether that’s signing up for your email list, booking a call, or purchasing a product.

When I built my first (WordPress) website, I focused on getting it done, not necessarily making it functional. Over time, I learned that user experience (UX) matters. Your website should be clean, easy to navigate, mobile-friendly, and designed to convert visitors into clients or customers.

3. Content Marketing

Content marketing is all about educating, inspiring, and providing value to your audience. This could be through blog posts, videos, emails, podcasts or even social media captions.

The key? Focus on quality over quantity. Instead of trying to create content for the sake of it, think about what your ideal audience needs and how you can help them solve a problem. Think about the questions you get asked and start there.

4. Social Media Marketing

It’s easy to feel like you need to be everywhere, but I’ve learned that being strategic is far more effective than spreading yourself too thin.
Social media should be about connection first, marketing second. Focus on showing up authentically, providing value, and engaging with your audience. Choose platforms where your ideal clients actually spend their time and create content that resonates with them.

5. Email Marketing

I’ll admit—I didn’t always prioritize email marketing (and I’m still a work in progress)! But I’ve since learned that an email list is one of the most valuable marketing assets you can have.

Unlike social media, where algorithms dictate who sees your content, your email list is yours. It allows you to nurture relationships, provide consistent value, and market your offers directly to people who want to hear from you.

6. Branding & Storytelling

Your brand is more than just colors and a logo—it’s about how people connect with you. Branding is what makes you recognizable and memorable, and storytelling is what helps build trust.

I’ve found that sharing my own journey, struggles, and lessons learned has helped me connect with my audience in a way that no perfect sales pitch ever could. People resonate with realness, not perfection.

7. Community & Relationship Building

Marketing isn’t just about getting seen—it’s about building relationships. Whether that’s through an email list, private group, or personalized interactions, nurturing your audience helps build trust, which leads to loyal customers and clients.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned? People want to connect with people. So focus on building genuine relationships instead of just pushing out content.

Final Thoughts

Looking back, I never could have predicted that my digital marketing journey would lead me to where I am today. I’ve pivoted, shifted, and evolved over the years, but one thing has remained the same: I love helping entrepreneurs create a beautiful space online to give them a renewed sense of confidence as they pursue their purpose and passions.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by digital marketing, just know—you don’t have to do it all at once. Start with the basics, take it one step at a time, and focus on progress over perfection.

Conscious Caregiving
After walking through my dad’s stage 4 cancer diagnosis, I experienced firsthand the emotional, physical, and mental weight that caregiving can carry. But I also experienced something else, what it looks like to approach care with intention, support the body in natural ways, and create space for presence in the middle of uncertainty.

Through that journey, my dad was able to beat his initial diagnosis in 2014, and we were given 12 more years with him before he passed in February 2026. That time shaped me in ways I’m still uncovering—and it’s what led me to create a space for caregivers who feel overwhelmed, stretched thin, or unsure where to begin.

I now share simple tools, gentle guidance, and real-life perspective to help you move from panic to peace—without losing yourself in the process.

Holistic Health & Natural Living
During that same season, I was also navigating my own health challenges—walking through two and a half years of infertility.

After making intentional shifts—supporting my gut, balancing hormones, reducing toxins in our home, and working with a naturopath... I was able to conceive naturally, without medical intervention (praise God).

That experience changed everything for me.

It deepened my belief in supporting the body, simplified the way I approach wellness, and is why I love sharing natural living in a way that feels approachable, not overwhelming.
