It May Be Time to Create Client Coaching Packages
This week, a conversation with one of my clients reminded me that sometimes we are already doing the work—we just have not turned it into a clear offer yet. She is a stay-at-home, homeschool mom who is building a part-time virtual assistant business. She is also passionate about women’s health, pregnancy, birth and helping women advocate for themselves.

She has created resources for women who have experienced traumatic births. She has been a guest on podcasts. She helps women who are interested in a VBAC but may be getting pushback from their provider. She wants women to feel informed, supported and empowered as they make decisions about their pregnancy and birth.

Her website already gives someone the option to book a discovery call or schedule a birth-planning session. But she asked a very important question: "What if someone wants to keep working with me?"

She did not yet have a coaching package for that.

And honestly, this is where many coaches, consultants, advocates and service providers get stuck. They know how to help someone. They may already be answering questions, sharing resources and walking people through a process. But they have not created a clear way for someone to receive ongoing support.

If your work helps someone move through a transformation, make a decision, prepare for something important or complete a process that cannot realistically happen in one conversation, it may be time to create a coaching package.

A Discovery Call Is Not the Same as a Coaching Call

Before you decide what to charge, it helps to separate the different ways someone may meet with you.

A free discovery call:  A discovery call is usually a short, 15- to 30-minute conversation that helps both of you decide whether working together is a good fit. This is not meant to be a free coaching session. You can listen to what the person needs, briefly explain how you may be able to help and recommend the best next step.

A simple discovery call may include:
  • What are you currently navigating?
  • What kind of support are you looking for?
  • What would you like to feel clearer or more confident about?
  • Here is how I work and what I would recommend.
Keeping this call focused protects your time and helps the potential client understand the difference between learning about your services and receiving your services.

A single paid session:  Some people do not need an ongoing package. They may need one focused conversation to work through a decision, make a plan or get an experienced perspective on what to do next.

In this example, a paid session could be a:
  • Strategy session
  • Birth-planning session
  • Advocacy preparation call
  • A business consultation
  • Wellness planning session
  • Follow-up or clarity call
The value is not just in the 60 minutes you spend together. Your client is also paying for your experience, preparation, insight, resources and ability to help them move forward more efficiently.

A multi-call coaching package:  A package is appropriate when the desired result requires continued support, accountability or decisions over time.

For example, someone preparing for a VBAC may benefit from an initial planning session, another call after speaking with a provider and a final call closer to birth. A business client may need help clarifying an offer, putting the pieces in place and reviewing what was built. A wellness client may need guidance, time to implement and follow-up support.

In each situation, the value is in the full journey—not simply a collection of hourly calls.

How Do You Decide What to Charge?

There is no universal price that works for every coach or consultant. Your rate should reflect your experience, the type of support you provide, the transformation involved, the preparation required and the budget of the people you serve.

If you are newer and need a starting point, you might consider ranges like these:

Offer
 Starting range
15–30 minute discovery call
Free
One 60-minute focused session
$75–$150
Three-call package
$210–$420
Six-call package
$390–$780

These are examples, not rules. A highly specialized consultant or experienced coach may charge significantly more.
Start by choosing a reasonable rate for one focused session. Then build the package around the level of access and support included.

For example, if your single-session rate is $100, you might offer:
  • One 60-minute session for $100
  • Three sessions for $285
  • Six sessions for $540
The package gives the client a small incentive to commit to the process, while still honoring the value of your time. You do not need to offer a deep discount. The goal is not to make your one-on-one work cheap. It is to make the next step clear.

And remember to account for more than the call itself. Consider whether your package includes:
  • Reviewing an intake form before each session
  • Creating a customized plan
  • Sending notes, recordings or resources afterward
  • Email or messaging support between calls
  • Preparing questions or action steps
  • Following up on progress
If a one-hour call requires 20 minutes of preparation and 15 minutes of follow-up, you are not selling only one hour of your time.

Give the Package a Purpose, Not Just a Number of Calls

“Three coaching calls” tells someone what they receive, but it does not tell them why they need it. Try building the package around a clear outcome or season instead.

For example:
  • Confident Birth Planning Package: Three calls over eight weeks to help you identify your preferences, prepare questions for your provider and create an informed birth plan.
  • VBAC Advocacy Support: Six calls throughout pregnancy to help you prepare for provider conversations, understand your options and advocate for the birth experience you are pursuing.
  • Offer Clarity Intensive: Three calls over six weeks to clarify your offer, organize the client journey and create the next steps needed to launch it.
Your package should answer four questions:
  1. Who is it for?
  2. What will you help them work through?
  3. How many sessions are included, and how long do they have to use them?
  4. What support or resources are included between calls?
When those answers are clear, the offer feels more tangible and easier to purchase.

Use the Tools You Already Have to Simplify the Process

Once you create a package, you also need a simple way for people to pay, schedule and manage their appointments. This is one reason I encourage GetOiling and AttractWell users to look at what is already built into their platform before adding another subscription.

The integrated booking tools can help you create different appointment types, connect your calendar, set your availability and send booking confirmations or reminders. Clients can use your booking link rather than going back and forth with you to find a time.

Depending on your account and current feature access, you can also organize a coaching package around a specific number of sessions and a set period in which the client can use them. Before publishing your offer, check the current options available within your plan.

That means you may not need to add Calendly, Acuity or another third-party scheduler just to begin offering calls.

The goal is not to automate the personal connection out of your business. It is to automate the repetitive steps so that you have more time and energy for the part only you can provide: the actual support.

You Do Not Need Every Detail Perfect Before You Begin

Your first coaching package does not have to become your forever offer. Start with the transformation you already know how to help someone navigate. Create a simple worksheet or flow for that week’s session and have it printed or even share it with your client as a workable document. I like to use Google Docs for this.

Choose a number of calls that make sense. Set a clear time frame. Decide what is and is not included. Price it in a way that honors both your current experience and the time required to serve your client well.

Then open a few spots and pay attention.

You will learn which questions clients ask, where they need more support, how much preparation is required and whether the number of sessions feels right. You can refine the package as you gain experience and collect feedback.

If people are already asking whether they can work with you, you may not need to create something entirely new.

You may simply need to package the support you are already prepared to give.

Ready to Turn Your Support Into a Clear Offer?

You do not have to figure out the setup alone. Choose the next step that fits where you are right now:  Learn how the coaching package feature works. GetOiling and AttractWell have created tutorials that walk you through the coaching package and booking features. I will link those videos here so you can see how the setup works and learn more about the training available.

Conscious Caregiving

After walking through my dad’s stage 4 cancer diagnosis, I experienced firsthand the emotional, physical, and mental weight that caregiving can carry. But I also experienced something else, what it looks like to approach care with intention, support the body in natural ways, and create space for presence in the middle of uncertainty.

Through that journey, my dad was able to beat his initial diagnosis in 2014, and we were given 12 more years with him before he passed in February 2026. That time shaped me in ways I’m still uncovering—and it’s what led me to create a space for caregivers who feel overwhelmed, stretched thin, or unsure where to begin.

I now share simple tools, gentle guidance, and real-life perspective to help you move from panic to peace... without losing yourself in the process.

Holistic Health & Natural Living

During that same season, I was also navigating my own health challenges, walking through two and a half years of infertility. After making intentional shifts... supporting my gut, balancing hormones, reducing toxins in our home, and working with a naturopath... I was able to conceive naturally, without medical intervention (praise God).

That experience changed everything for me. It deepened my belief in supporting the body, simplified the way I approach wellness, and is why I love sharing natural living in a way that feels approachable, not overwhelming.
